Quick and Easy Snowflake Ornament
Merry Christmas!
Another quick and easy pattern, this time for a Snowflake Ornament.
Note: This pattern has NOT been tested. It took me 10 minutes to make & write and therefore is a quicker ornament, easy to use as a fun tag on gifts, etc. Possibilities are endless.
Materials needed:
- F Hook (4.0mm)
-Worsted Weight Yarn in 1 color (I used a white in Red Heart brand)
Abbreviations:
Ch (chain)
Sl st (Slip Stitch)
Sc (Single crochet)
Hdc (half double crochet)
Dc (double crochet)
Pattern: Note: The number of sides depends on how many sc you have in first row, in my example I have 6, but could do any amount you'd like to have multiple sides. Each snowflake is unique after all!
1. Ch 2, sc 6 in 2nd chain from hook, sl st to first st to join (6 stitches total)
2. Ch 1 *sc 1, ch 2* around, sl st to first sc to join round
3. Working in the chain 2 loop from prior row: *(hdc, dc, ch 2, dc, hdc) , sl st in sc from prior row*, repeat from * to * around, sl st to hdc to join, sl st to ch 2 of row 3 before starting row 4
4. Working in the chain 2 loop from prior row: *hdc, dc, [ch 5, join w/ sl st to first chain of the chain 5 to form a peak], dc, hdc*, chain 3 to move to next chain loop from prior row*, and repeat from * to * around, sl st to join to first hdc
To make hanging loop:
Turn and sl st to middle of last *ch 3* worked in row 4.
Chain 20, join to ch 3 loop from row 4 via sl st.
Fasten Off and Weave in Ends.
Tada! Simple and quick.
