Mini Santa Hat Ornament Pattern - Crochet

 Merry Christmas! 

Here's a basic mini Ornament Santa Hat to Crochet using scraps. Pattern has NOT been tested. 

Pattern: Mini Santa Hat Ornament Pattern

Materials: 

1. F Hook (4.0mm hook)

2. 2 colors of Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Red Heart in a red & white) 

Stitches and abbreviations: 

Sl St (Slip St) 

Ch (chain) 

SC (single crochet)

SC Inc (single crochet increase) 

St / sts (stitch /stitches)

Pattern: (Worked in rounds 90% of the time) 

To Start: Using color 1 (color of main body of hat), ch 21, sl st in first ch to create loop to hang ornament 

1. Ch 1, SC 4 in first chain (4 st)

2. SC in each st around(4) 

3. *SC Inc* in each st around (8) 

4-5. SC in each st around (8) 

6. *SC Inc in first st, sc in next st* 4 times around (12) 

7-8. SC in each st around (12) 

9. *SC Inc in first st, sc in next 2 sts* 4 times around (16) 

10-11. SC in each st around (16) 

12. *SC Inc in first st, sc in next 3 sts* 4 times around (20) 

13-14. SC in each st around (20) 

15. *SC Inc in first st, sc in next 4 sts* 4 times around (24) 

16. SC in each st around, sl st in next st (24) 

*fasten off color 1, change to color 2*

17. ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to connect (24) 

Using Reverse Slip Stitch (google this for more instructions on how-to): 

18. Chain 1, *(working to the right), work 1 sl st in next st, ch 1* around (24) 

Fasten off & tie in ends

Top of hat fluff: 

Taking 2nd color, slip stitch in first row to join: 

*chain 20, sl st in first row* 16 times (4 times in each stitch of the first row)

Fasten off & weave in ends
